If are looking for ways in which you can support transformative action in your school, parish or local community the Parish Guide, Care for Creation is a good place to start.
This guide is a collaborative effort on the part of faith communities and the Diocese of Ottawa, to offer simple, actionable steps that bring us closer to a more sustainable common home.
For the Love of Creation is a national initiative that brings together faith bodies and faith-based organizations in Canada under a unified banner to mobilize education, reflection, action and advocacy for climate justice.
Join the Faith in Action campaign. Take the pledge, write your MP and reduce your emissions!
Participants will learn to reduce their own Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and engage in acts of solidarity with justice seeking communities. In addition to cutting emissions, a template is provided to guide you in writing to your Member of Parliament and requesting to:
- Increase Canada’s national GHG emissions reduction target;
- Invest in a just transition to a fair, inclusive, green economy;
- Implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including, but not limited to, the right of free, prior and informed consent;
- Commit equal support for climate change adaptation and mitigation measures in the Global South.
